Humming Along and Home to Roost

Even in the Deep South, it can get downright cold in January. Since I love Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Blends and Watercolor Pencils, what better way to while away the long winter days than color! The Humming Along Cling Stamp Set and the Sale-A-Bration Home to Roost Cling Stamp Set were the perfect stamps for my projects.

HUMMING ALONG CLING STAMP SET

This was one of the stamp sets that was demonstrated at OnStage Orlando in November, and I loved it at first sight. There’s a beautiful flower, a hummingbird (we love hummers!) and sentiments to complete the project.

I stamped the hummingbird in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, the colored it with Balmy Blue and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. I used a strip of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper and the sentiment is from the Humming Along Cling Stamp Set, stamped in Memento.

I used the Stampin’ Up! Shimmery White Cardstock for this one, since it adds just a touch of shimmer. The hummingbird is stamped in StazOn Ink, then colored with Watercolor Pencils and an Aqua Painter. The Red Rhinestones were the extra touch of bling I wanted. The Stitched Labels Framelits Die gave a touch of texture to the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock base.

Shimmery White Cardstock, stamped with StazOn Ink then colored with our Watercolor Pencils. I also used the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder and the Everyday Label Punch for the sentiment from the Humming Along Stamp Set.

But there’s also a gorgeous flower with this stamp set! This is one of Stampin’ Up’s new Cling Stamp Sets, found in the Occasions Catalog. Three great sentiments, too.

For these two flower images, I used Memento Ink, then the Watercolor Pencils, and the Blender Pen. The blue flower is Pacific Point and the pink flower is Flirty Flamingo. I used the light Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blend to add contrast around the flowers and make them pop.

The Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper is the perfect background!

I stamped the flower in Versamark on the Pear Pizzaz Cardstock.

Home to Roost Cling Stamp Set

One of my favorite Sale-A-Bration Items is the Home to Roost Cling Stamp Set. This stamp set is one of the FREE Items you can choose with any $50 Product Order. Look at the great sentiments!

I used Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Paper for these, stamped the images in StazOn Ink, then used the Watercolor Pencils and the AquaPainter to color them.

For these I used Whisper White or Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock, stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, the colored with Stampin’ Blends. I used the Stitched Labels Framelits, and the Pinewood Planks and Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.

One of the items in the new Occasions Catalog that I used is the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies. One of my VERY favorites that is already getting a lot of use!

This is going to be a FUN night of assembling one of the NEW Card Kits from the 2019 Occasions Catalog! I’ll have the assembled Kit and alternatives. You will use my Incredible Like You Stamp Set as well as Stampin’ Ink Pads to complete at least one of each card in the Kit.

SPRING INTO STAMPING

This is a very popular Class I held last spring during Sale-A-Bration and I decided to bring it back!

This is a THREE MONTH CLASS, but you may attend any number of Classes.

This Class is for beginning stampers or those who just want a refresher course so they can get back into stamping and papercrafting. Make 2 cards with step by step instructions. Learn about things like:

2. Inks—which inks to use for different applications, as well as how to use Stampin’ Up! Ink Pads
3. Adhesives—how to select the best adhesives for different projects
4. Cardstock—how to choose the correct cardstock for your projects
5. Big Shot—how to use this awesome diecutting and embossing machine

If you have scissors, adhesives or a Stampin’ Trimmer, please bring them. If you don’t, come anyway and I’ll help you know how to select them!

We will create 2 cards each month, envelopes included, with lots of teaching, tips and techniques. Cost for this Class is $10 and your payment will be your registration. Please RSVP by 2 days before Class.

Why I joined Stampin’ Up!

My papercrafting journey began 11 years ago when I first started (and fell in love with!) scrapbooking. My Stampin’ Up! journey began about 6 months later, when I first started using (and fell in love with!) Stampin’ Up! products. I joined Stampin’ Up! as an Independent Demonstrator about 2 ½ years ago, and what a great choice it was! So why did I finally take the plunge and decide to become a Demonstrator rather than a customer? Several reasons!

Garden Impressions One Sheet Wonder Cards

What a wonderful summer it’s been for the Stewart house! Lots of times with grands and kids equals pure bliss! One of the things I love about spring and summer (and even fall) is all the flowers that are blooming. The Abstract Impressions Suite has coordinating floral stamps and floral dies, and the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper coordinated beautifully to help create some beautiful projects.

I decided I wanted to do a One Sheet Wonder Class using the 6 X 6 Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper. I was inspired by the template and card designs of Rebecca Urban, another talented Stampin’ Up Demonstrator. Here are the cards we made in this fun class.

This paper was just perfect for this Class to show how you can stretch our Stampin’ Up Designer Series Papers and get more bang for your buck! I used Soft Sea Foam and Calypso Coral Cardstock and Stampin’ Inks. The sentiments are from the Ribbon of Courage and the Beautiful Day Stamp Sets. So quick and easy!! Next I want to try a 12 X 12 One Sheet Wonder Class, and I’m sure the new Christmas Designer Series Papers will inspire me.

The flower stamped called out to me, too, so I colored those in Calypso Coral and Lovely Lipstick. I used Old Olive for the leaves and Daffodil Delight Dark for the flower centers. Aren’t they just lovely? And remarkably quick to create such beautiful projects!

Birthday Memories Suite and February Events Schedule

One of my favorite Suites from the Stampin’ Up Annual Catalog is the Birthday Memories Suite. Bright and cheerful, colorful and very retro. Loved it from the first time I got to play with it! With the cold, gloomy winter weather we’ve had so much of lately, I’ve begun to be drawn to our more colorful Suites and decided I had to create a card with this adorable little girl.

One of the BEST things about Stampin’ Up is how everything is coordinated for you. The Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper is the background paper here. The Birthday Girl, present and floral bouquet were all cut from the Designer Series Paper using the Birthday Friends Framelits Dies with the Big Shot. The little girl and the Daffodil Delight Double Stitched Ribbon are both mounted on Pacific Point Cardstock, which is one of my very favorite Stampin’ Up colors. The sentiment was stamped using the Birthday Delivery Stamps Set. See how it’s all coordinated for you?! Makes creating beautiful projects so much easier!

I must admit that I came across a picture a couple of days ago that inspired this card. One of those “long ago” pictures! Yep, that’s me.

Even though we’re in the grips of arctic cold here in the Deep South, thoughts are turning toward Valentine’s Day and spring with the new Stampin’ Up Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration. You’re going to LOVE these new products!

The new Painted with Love Suite is just stunning, with lots of “bling” to it! And it’s just one of the new products in this Occasions Catalog. We’ll be using this gorgeous Painted with Love Designer Series Paper in next week’s Quick and Easy Cards Class to make a special little box. Fun! One of the major harbinger’s of spring, of course, is daffodils, so I was absolutely thrilled to see Stampin’ Up’s new You’re So Inspiring Stamp Set–with daffodils!! An added feature is all of the sentiments included with this stamp set. So many possibilities!!

The daffodils just pop when colored using the Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.

LOTS of fun happenings this month to help us survive these dreary winter days!

Quick and Easy Cards Classes

Tuesday, January 9th, 6:30-8:30 PM OR

Thursday, January 11th, 10 AM-12 OR 6:30-8:30 PM

This monthly Quick and Easy Cards Class is a great way to build your cards stash with some beautiful handmade cards. For this class we’ll be using the Bloomin’ Love stamps and coordinating dies and the Painted With Love dies and Designer Series Paper to make 4 cards, 2 each of 2 designs, including envelopes and inside sentiments. We’ll also be making 2 cards using products from the NEW 2018 Occasions Catalog!

You will receive a FREE copy of both the 2018 Occasions Catalog AND the Sale-A-Bration Brochure!

**Class is $15 or FREE with a $20 minimum product order. FREE Sale-A-Bration Product with a $50 Product Order.
**Please bring adhesives and scissors. I do have adhesive available for purchase.

Saturday, January 13th, 1-3 PM, immediately after the Kick Off Party!

This Class will be a time to assemble the new Lots of Happy ALL INCLUSIVE Card Kit.

There’s lots to love in this all-inclusive card kit. Create all-occasion cards, then add your own color using the included Watercolor Pencils. Makes 20 cards, 4 each of 5 designs, using the included Lots of Happy Stamp Set.
Includes set of 7 photopolymer stamps; clear stamp block; 20 printed card bases and coordinating envelopes; giftable kraft box; printed, gold foil, white, and vellum die-cut accents; white/gold foil labels; Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Spot; full-size Watercolor Pencils in Flirty Flamingo*, Lemon Lime Twist*, Old Olive, and Rich Razzleberry; Lemon Lime Twist 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon; Stampin’ Dimensionals®. Complete using your choice of adhesive (AC p. 202).

STAMPIN’ BLENDS CLASS

Monday, January 22nd, 6:30-8:30 PM

Class Supplies needed:
1. Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad
2. Adhesive
3. Scissors
4. Bone Folder

If you do not have the Memento Ink Pad, you may add $6 to the class fee and I will order you one. I also have SNAIL adhesive runners available for sale.

Class fee is $28. Deadline to sign up and pay class fee is Monday, January 8th so class supplies can be ordered. You may let me know your color choices when you sign up and pay.
