We all certainly have those seasons in life, not being able to see around the next bend in the road. Hello Spring!

Spring is all around us now in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia. Southern springs are never boring, though, with snow showers this morning and a forecast high of 75 tomorrow!

So long to Sale-A-Bration 2019

This year’s Sale-A-Bration Items were just fantastic! I’ve got just a couple of cards I’d like to share before we say our final farewells, though, to give you some ideas for how to use those fabulous Sale-A-Bration Items you earned! The Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper was one of my absolute favorites.

Good news!! The Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder will be returning in the new 2019-2010 Annual Catalog. Yay! Here’s a card I created using it with Vellum Cardstock, then coloring with Stampin’ Blends.

I created the frame using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies (love!) on Coastal Cabana Cardstock. The Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon was just the right finishing touch.

At a party last week, we made butterfly projects using the Country Floral Embossing Folder, the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper, and the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set on a Whisper White Note Card and a Mini Pizza Box. The ladies had great fun making them!

FAREWELL TO THE 2017-2019 InColors

At our Crafting on the Hill April Team Meeting, we created three cards using the retiring 2017-2019 InColors Assortment. Stampin’ Up! has a great variety of punches that coordinate with lots of stamp sets, and we used several for this project. The daisy from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set was stamped in Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink and Berry Burst, then punched using the coordinating Daisy Punch. We also used the Detailed Trio Punch, the Pretty Label Punch and the Leaf Punch. Shop for these retiring InColors before they’re gone! Better With You No Line Watercoloring

Wow!! What a quick and easy FUN technique! I finally tried the “no line watercoloring” and oh, my–I loved it!! I used the Better With You Clear Stamp Set to create this adorable little birdie card.

I stamped off the little bird and the decorative element stamps on Watercolor Paper in Crumb Cake, then colored the bird with Balmy Blue, Pear Pizzazz, Cajun Craze, So Saffron, Soft Suede and Early Espresso. I used ink from the Stampin’ Ink Pads and the medium Aqua Painter Brush.

The Sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso. The base is the Tea Room Designer Series Paper. And Linen Thread provides just the right finishing touch!

Such a fun technique with such an adorable stamp set! The variety of sentiments stamps makes it even more versatile.

I ran a piece of the Powder Pink Cardstock through the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the base, then punched out a piece of it from the center using the Story Label Punch, a Sale-A-Bration Coordination Item available for purchase. The sentiment is from the Part of My Story Cling Stamp Set and is also a Sale-A-Bration Item FREE with any $50 Product Order.

I just couldn’t resist pairing this folder with a piece of the Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper Sale-A-Bration Item. I used a piece of Lemon Lime Twist (retiring soon!) Cardstock and the Tea Room Ribbon Combo Pack for the ribbon. An elegant touch!

I love working with Stampin’ Up’s Vellum Cardstock, so I ran it through the Country Floral Embossing Folder, then used Stampin’ Blends to add touches of color to accent some of the elements. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Gala Photopolymer Stamp Set found in the Occasions Catalog. The Calypso Coral Twine is from a past Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Humming Along and Home to Roost

Even in the Deep South, it can get downright cold in January. Since I love Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Blends and Watercolor Pencils, what better way to while away the long winter days than color! The Humming Along Cling Stamp Set and the Sale-A-Bration Home to Roost Cling Stamp Set were the perfect stamps for my projects.

HUMMING ALONG CLING STAMP SET

This was one of the stamp sets that was demonstrated at OnStage Orlando in November, and I loved it at first sight. There’s a beautiful flower, a hummingbird (we love hummers!) and sentiments to complete the project.

I stamped the hummingbird in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, the colored it with Balmy Blue and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. I used a strip of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper and the sentiment is from the Humming Along Cling Stamp Set, stamped in Memento.

I used the Stampin’ Up! Shimmery White Cardstock for this one, since it adds just a touch of shimmer. The hummingbird is stamped in StazOn Ink, then colored with Watercolor Pencils and an Aqua Painter. The Red Rhinestones were the extra touch of bling I wanted. The Stitched Labels Framelits Die gave a touch of texture to the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock base.

Shimmery White Cardstock, stamped with StazOn Ink then colored with our Watercolor Pencils. I also used the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder and the Everyday Label Punch for the sentiment from the Humming Along Stamp Set.

But there’s also a gorgeous flower with this stamp set! This is one of Stampin’ Up’s new Cling Stamp Sets, found in the Occasions Catalog. Three great sentiments, too.

For these two flower images, I used Memento Ink, then the Watercolor Pencils, and the Blender Pen. The blue flower is Pacific Point and the pink flower is Flirty Flamingo. I used the light Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blend to add contrast around the flowers and make them pop.

The Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper is the perfect background!

I stamped the flower in Versamark on the Pear Pizzaz Cardstock.

Home to Roost Cling Stamp Set

One of my favorite Sale-A-Bration Items is the Home to Roost Cling Stamp Set. This stamp set is one of the FREE Items you can choose with any $50 Product Order. Look at the great sentiments!

I used Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Paper for these, stamped the images in StazOn Ink, then used the Watercolor Pencils and the AquaPainter to color them.

For these I used Whisper White or Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock, stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, the colored with Stampin’ Blends. I used the Stitched Labels Framelits, and the Pinewood Planks and Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.

One of the items in the new Occasions Catalog that I used is the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies. One of my VERY favorites that is already getting a lot of use!

Beautiful Blizzard

At the October Christmas Cards Class, we had some fun with Shimmer Paint and the Beautiful Blizzard Stamp Set. This Stamp Set makes gorgeous Christmas cards quickly and easily!

Beautiful Blizzard Stamps Set

I decided to use a combination of Pool Party and Night of Navy.

First we stamped the “sploosh” from the Beautiful Blizzard Stamps Set onto Thick Whisper White Cardstock. In a Stampin’ Spritzer filled about 2/3 with rubbing alcohol, I added a couple of drops of Frost White Shimmer Paint. We lightly spritzed the “sploosh” images with that mixture, then set it aside a couple of minutes to dry. After it was dry, we stamped the snowflakes in Night of Navy. I also stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy. For another “sparkly” layer, I added a couple of rhinestones. Lots of snowy beauty!

I also used the Pool Party and Night of Navy color combo with the second card. The snowflakes are from the Colorful Seasons Thinlits Dies set. I used Champagne Foil paper. Sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy and punched out using the Everyday Label Punch.

Beautiful Blizzard is a perfect holiday stamps set, and it has a coordinating die to create even more projects! Get the Bundle on my online store and save 10%!

For this card, I decided to go with the classical elegance of red, black and white. I used Real Red Cardstock for the background, then the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the top layer. The sentiment from Timeless Tidings is stamped in Real Red and mounted on Real Red Cardstock cut using the Starburst Punch. Red Rhinestones and Basic Black 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon were the perfect finishing touches.

The Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper is just perfect for fall and Christmas projects, and I love this plaid! I used the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake Cardstock to add some depth and dimension. The sentiment from Beautiful Blizzard is stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

Tin Tile and Shimmer Paint

October Fast and Fabulous Cards Class

Lots of fun cards at the October monthly Fast and Fabulous Cards Class. We used two new products found in the 2018 Holiday Catalog, the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint. Crafty, creative FUN!

I used a 5″ X 3 3/4″ piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot using the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It was beautiful just like that, but I really wanted to use the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint to make the pattern pop. I mixed a few drops of Soft Suede reinker and a couple of drops of the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint, then used a Sponge Dauber to sponge it randomly over the Crumb Cake. Love the shine and shimmer it created!

I mounted it on a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock, which was mounted on a Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock base. The sentiment is mounted on a piece of the Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper.

We used Lovely As A Tree, one of Stampin’ Up’s oldest stamps sets, to create another fall card, stamped with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad.

Again, I used the Sponge Daubers in Grapefruit Grove, Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight for the fall colors on the trees, then sponged Mossy Meadow and Crumb Cake for the grass. It’s mounted on Cajun Craze Cardstock. The Rooted in Nature Designer Series Paper at the bottom is mounted on Mossy Meadow Cardstock and the Petal Palette Sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow.

For the third card, I went with something totally different and totally vintage.

For many years, I’ve loved blue and white china and even have a blue and white plate inherited from my maternal grandmother, which I still treasure. So when I first saw this lovely Very Vintage Hostess Stamp Set in the 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, I knew I had to stamp it in blue. The new InColor Blueberry Bushel is the perfect blue! I stamped off the lace images, but stamped the flowers and sentiment full strength, then mounted it on a piece of scalloped oval Blueberry Bushel.

Finally FALL!!

Fall weather is frequently a long time coming here in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia. But when it does arrive, oh how spectacular! We’re finally getting our first taste of cooler (below 90 degrees!) temps and it’s wonderfully refreshing.

One of the things I most enjoy about cooler weather is sipping on hot tea. Guess it’s my British and Scottish heritage, but hot tea has been a favorite my entire adult life. I even have an small collection of lovely china tea pots that just make me smile. So, naturally, one of my favorite suites is the Tea Room Suite.

TEA ROOM SUITE CARDS

Recently I held a Tea Room Suite product based class, and the ladies really enjoyed creating with this beautiful Suite.

This 4 x 4 card was made using Coastal Cabana Cardstock and Stampin’ Ink. The flower was stamped in Calypso Coral.

I really wanted to feature the Tea Room Designer Series Paper in this card. The Tea Room Ribbon Combo Pack is the perfect accent!

The Tea Room Stamp sentiment is stamped in Coastal Cabana and the tea cup is stamped in Calypso Coral.

The Tufted Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder coordinates so perfectly with this Suite.

This was an alternate idea I made using the Colored Doilies.
