Paper Pumpkin Mini Album

Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin Kits are so versatile! In that monthly box, you’ve got all you need to make the projects included. But, as a scrapbooker, the May Good Things Grow from March 2018 just begged to be scrapbooked! So I made several of the suggested projects, then made my own mini album.

MAY GOOD THINGS GROW MINI ALBUM

For the cover, I used the cardboard insert from the Paper Pumpkin Kit and covered it with cardstock in a coordinating color.

Then I made the pages for the inside of the mini album from other elements included in the Kit, as well as coordinating cardstock.

The finishing touch was ribbon and twine tied to the ring binders.

While this album is no longer available, each month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit always has lots of great alternate project possibilities! Hello Spring!

Spring is all around us now in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia. Southern springs are never boring, though, with snow showers this morning and a forecast high of 75 tomorrow!

So long to Sale-A-Bration 2019

This year’s Sale-A-Bration Items were just fantastic! I’ve got just a couple of cards I’d like to share before we say our final farewells, though, to give you some ideas for how to use those fabulous Sale-A-Bration Items you earned! The Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper was one of my absolute favorites.

Good news!! The Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder will be returning in the new 2019-2010 Annual Catalog. Yay! Here’s a card I created using it with Vellum Cardstock, then coloring with Stampin’ Blends.

I created the frame using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies (love!) on Coastal Cabana Cardstock. The Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon was just the right finishing touch.

At a party last week, we made butterfly projects using the Country Floral Embossing Folder, the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper, and the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set on a Whisper White Note Card and a Mini Pizza Box. The ladies had great fun making them!

FAREWELL TO THE 2017-2019 InColors

At our Crafting on the Hill April Team Meeting, we created three cards using the retiring 2017-2019 InColors Assortment. Stampin’ Up! has a great variety of punches that coordinate with lots of stamp sets, and we used several for this project. The daisy from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set was stamped in Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink and Berry Burst, then punched using the coordinating Daisy Punch. We also used the Detailed Trio Punch, the Pretty Label Punch and the Leaf Punch. Shop for these retiring InColors before they’re gone! I ran a piece of the Powder Pink Cardstock through the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the base, then punched out a piece of it from the center using the Story Label Punch, a Sale-A-Bration Coordination Item available for purchase. The sentiment is from the Part of My Story Cling Stamp Set and is also a Sale-A-Bration Item FREE with any $50 Product Order.

I just couldn’t resist pairing this folder with a piece of the Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper Sale-A-Bration Item. I used a piece of Lemon Lime Twist (retiring soon!) Cardstock and the Tea Room Ribbon Combo Pack for the ribbon. An elegant touch!

I love working with Stampin’ Up’s Vellum Cardstock, so I ran it through the Country Floral Embossing Folder, then used Stampin’ Blends to add touches of color to accent some of the elements. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Gala Photopolymer Stamp Set found in the Occasions Catalog. The Calypso Coral Twine is from a past Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Finally FALL!!

Fall weather is frequently a long time coming here in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia. But when it does arrive, oh how spectacular! We’re finally getting our first taste of cooler (below 90 degrees!) temps and it’s wonderfully refreshing.

One of the things I most enjoy about cooler weather is sipping on hot tea. Guess it’s my British and Scottish heritage, but hot tea has been a favorite my entire adult life. I even have an small collection of lovely china tea pots that just make me smile. So, naturally, one of my favorite suites is the Tea Room Suite.

TEA ROOM SUITE CARDS

Recently I held a Tea Room Suite product based class, and the ladies really enjoyed creating with this beautiful Suite.

This 4 x 4 card was made using Coastal Cabana Cardstock and Stampin’ Ink. The flower was stamped in Calypso Coral.

I really wanted to feature the Tea Room Designer Series Paper in this card. The Tea Room Ribbon Combo Pack is the perfect accent!

The Tea Room Stamp sentiment is stamped in Coastal Cabana and the tea cup is stamped in Calypso Coral.

The Tufted Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder coordinates so perfectly with this Suite.

This was an alternate idea I made using the Colored Doilies.

This is one of the Bundles in the Annual Catalog, which means that you can save 10% on this set that’s already coordinated for you with the stamps and beautiful dies! Item 148410

Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper

August started off as one of the coolest on record here in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia, which was quite appropriate, since the Christmas Card Club kicked off on August 2nd! We made 4 cards and all the ladies were delighted to get a head start on their Christmas cards.

Under the Mistletoe Christmas Cards

We created 2 each of the 4 designs using both Under the Mistletoe and Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Papers.

This card was actually created using the Sheet Music Background Stamp. The Stamparatus is an absolute life saver for stamping Background Stamps and really helped in creating the background for the Lovely as a Tree Stamp stamped in Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Ink. It’s mounted on Cherry Cobbler cardstock, so to complete the vintage feel I used a strip of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and a touch of Vintage Lace. Elegant and easy!

I mounted a strip of one of the plaids from the Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper. The pine bough and pine cones are from the Christmas Pines Stamp Set and the coordinated Pretty Pines Thinlits. The pine bough is stamped in Shaded Spruce.

This card really shows off the Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper! Mounted on Early Espresso cardstock with a Copper Foil strip and a couple of sprigs from the Pretty Pines Thinlits.

The first time I saw this pattern in the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper, I knew it would be a perfect starry night background. Combined here with the Night in Bethlehem Stamp and coordinated Thinlits set using Night of Navy, a favorite neutral. The Stamparatus was used to stamp the sentiment and made placement so much easier!

Birthday Memories Suite and February Events Schedule

One of my favorite Suites from the Stampin’ Up Annual Catalog is the Birthday Memories Suite. Bright and cheerful, colorful and very retro. Loved it from the first time I got to play with it! With the cold, gloomy winter weather we’ve had so much of lately, I’ve begun to be drawn to our more colorful Suites and decided I had to create a card with this adorable little girl.

Birthday Memories Card

One of the BEST things about Stampin’ Up is how everything is coordinated for you. The Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper is the background paper here. The Birthday Girl, present and floral bouquet were all cut from the Designer Series Paper using the Birthday Friends Framelits Dies with the Big Shot. The little girl and the Daffodil Delight Double Stitched Ribbon are both mounted on Pacific Point Cardstock, which is one of my very favorite Stampin’ Up colors. The sentiment was stamped using the Birthday Delivery Stamps Set. See how it’s all coordinated for you?! Makes creating beautiful projects so much easier!

I must admit that I came across a picture a couple of days ago that inspired this card. One of those “long ago” pictures! Yep, that’s me.

We had a Fun Folds Cards Class and made these cards using this same Suite. See how bright and cheerful this set is?

Our Crafting on the Hill Monthly Team Meetings are held the first Monday of each month. This is a monthly time for Team Achievement Recognition (with prizes!), an overview of Stampin’ Up news and events, as well as stampin’ time and the fun of being together as a Team. AND a Door Prize! Please feel free to join us to hear more about joining Stampin’ Up!

Light sandwich supper served beginning at 6 PM.

Sweet Soiree Sampler and Gift Box Class

February 8th, 6:30-8:30 PM

Create an 8 X 8 frameable sampler using the new Stampin’ Up Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper and coordinating Embellishment Kit. You’ll also use one of the new Silver Mini-Gable Boxes to create a coordinating Gift Box. Keep them or gift them!

Please bring scissors and adhesive. Adhesive is available for purchase.

Cost of this Class is $15. RSVP with Payment by January 26th to register for this fun class!

Quick and Easy Cards Class

Three times to choose from!

February 12th or13th, 6:30-8:30 PM

February 15th, 10 AM-Noon

This monthly Quick and Easy Cards Class is a great way to build your cards stash with some beautiful handmade cards. For this class we’ll be using Petal Pallete Suite to make 6 cards, 2 each of 3 designs, including envelopes and inside sentiments.

New Customers: You will receive a FREE copy of both the 2018 Occasions Catalog AND the Sale-A-Bration Brochure!

**Class is $15 or FREE with a $20 minimum product order. FREE Sale-A-Bration Product with each $50 Product Order!

Stampin’ Blends Class

February 20th, 6:30-8:30 PM

Say hello to a new world of colorful creativity with Stampin’ Up’s premiere alcohol markers. These high quality dual tip markers each have a light and dark shade to give you the best blending experience.

This class includes:
1. Two Stampin’ Blends of your choice (suggest you choose a light and dark shade of two different colors)
2. Color Lifter Stampin’ Blend
3. One fourth of the Color Me Happy Project Kit
4. Time of instruction and practice with the Color Me Happy Stamp Set.

Class Supplies needed:
1. Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad
2. Adhesive
3. Scissors
4. Bone Folder

If you do not have the Memento Ink Pad, you may add $6 to the class fee and I will order you one. I also have SNAIL adhesive runners available for sale.

Class fee is $28. Deadline to sign up and pay class fee is Thursday, February 8th, so class supplies can be ordered. You may let me know your color choices when you sign up and pay.
