Hello Spring!

Spring is all around us now in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia. Southern springs are never boring, though, with snow showers this morning and a forecast high of 75 tomorrow!

So long to Sale-A-Bration 2019

This year’s Sale-A-Bration Items were just fantastic! I’ve got just a couple of cards I’d like to share before we say our final farewells, though, to give you some ideas for how to use those fabulous Sale-A-Bration Items you earned! The Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper was one of my absolute favorites.

Good news!! The Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder will be returning in the new 2019-2010 Annual Catalog. Yay! Here’s a card I created using it with Vellum Cardstock, then coloring with Stampin’ Blends.

I created the frame using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies (love!) on Coastal Cabana Cardstock. The Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon was just the right finishing touch.

At a party last week, we made butterfly projects using the Country Floral Embossing Folder, the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper, and the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set on a Whisper White Note Card and a Mini Pizza Box. The ladies had great fun making them!

FAREWELL TO THE 2017-2019 InColors

At our Crafting on the Hill April Team Meeting, we created three cards using the retiring 2017-2019 InColors Assortment. Stampin’ Up! has a great variety of punches that coordinate with lots of stamp sets, and we used several for this project. The daisy from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set was stamped in Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink and Berry Burst, then punched using the coordinating Daisy Punch. We also used the Detailed Trio Punch, the Pretty Label Punch and the Leaf Punch. Shop for these retiring InColors before they’re gone! Tin Tile and Shimmer Paint

October Fast and Fabulous Cards Class

Lots of fun cards at the October monthly Fast and Fabulous Cards Class. We used two new products found in the 2018 Holiday Catalog, the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint. Crafty, creative FUN!

I used a 5″ X 3 3/4″ piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot using the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It was beautiful just like that, but I really wanted to use the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint to make the pattern pop. I mixed a few drops of Soft Suede reinker and a couple of drops of the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint, then used a Sponge Dauber to sponge it randomly over the Crumb Cake. Love the shine and shimmer it created!

I mounted it on a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock, which was mounted on a Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock base. The sentiment is mounted on a piece of the Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper.

We used Lovely As A Tree, one of Stampin’ Up’s oldest stamps sets, to create another fall card, stamped with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad.

Again, I used the Sponge Daubers in Grapefruit Grove, Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight for the fall colors on the trees, then sponged Mossy Meadow and Crumb Cake for the grass. It’s mounted on Cajun Craze Cardstock. The Rooted in Nature Designer Series Paper at the bottom is mounted on Mossy Meadow Cardstock and the Petal Palette Sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow.

For the third card, I went with something totally different and totally vintage.

For many years, I’ve loved blue and white china and even have a blue and white plate inherited from my maternal grandmother, which I still treasure. So when I first saw this lovely Very Vintage Hostess Stamp Set in the 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, I knew I had to stamp it in blue. The new InColor Blueberry Bushel is the perfect blue! I stamped off the lace images, but stamped the flowers and sentiment full strength, then mounted it on a piece of scalloped oval Blueberry Bushel.

Finally FALL!!

Fall weather is frequently a long time coming here in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia. But when it does arrive, oh how spectacular! We’re finally getting our first taste of cooler (below 90 degrees!) temps and it’s wonderfully refreshing.

One of the things I most enjoy about cooler weather is sipping on hot tea. Guess it’s my British and Scottish heritage, but hot tea has been a favorite my entire adult life. I even have an small collection of lovely china tea pots that just make me smile. So, naturally, one of my favorite suites is the Tea Room Suite.

TEA ROOM SUITE CARDS

Recently I held a Tea Room Suite product based class, and the ladies really enjoyed creating with this beautiful Suite.

This 4 x 4 card was made using Coastal Cabana Cardstock and Stampin’ Ink. The flower was stamped in Calypso Coral.

I really wanted to feature the Tea Room Designer Series Paper in this card. The Tea Room Ribbon Combo Pack is the perfect accent!

The Tea Room Stamp sentiment is stamped in Coastal Cabana and the tea cup is stamped in Calypso Coral.

The Tufted Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder coordinates so perfectly with this Suite.

This was an alternate idea I made using the Colored Doilies.

Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper

August started off as one of the coolest on record here in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia, which was quite appropriate, since the Christmas Card Club kicked off on August 2nd! We made 4 cards and all the ladies were delighted to get a head start on their Christmas cards.

Under the Mistletoe Christmas Cards

We created 2 each of the 4 designs using both Under the Mistletoe and Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Papers.

This card was actually created using the Sheet Music Background Stamp. The Stamparatus is an absolute life saver for stamping Background Stamps and really helped in creating the background for the Lovely as a Tree Stamp stamped in Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Ink. It’s mounted on Cherry Cobbler cardstock, so to complete the vintage feel I used a strip of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and a touch of Vintage Lace. Elegant and easy!

I mounted a strip of one of the plaids from the Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper. The pine bough and pine cones are from the Christmas Pines Stamp Set and the coordinated Pretty Pines Thinlits. The pine bough is stamped in Shaded Spruce.

This card really shows off the Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper! Mounted on Early Espresso cardstock with a Copper Foil strip and a couple of sprigs from the Pretty Pines Thinlits.

The first time I saw this pattern in the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper, I knew it would be a perfect starry night background. Combined here with the Night in Bethlehem Stamp and coordinated Thinlits set using Night of Navy, a favorite neutral. The Stamparatus was used to stamp the sentiment and made placement so much easier!

Garden Impressions One Sheet Wonder Cards

What a wonderful summer it’s been for the Stewart house! Lots of times with grands and kids equals pure bliss! One of the things I love about spring and summer (and even fall) is all the flowers that are blooming. The Abstract Impressions Suite has coordinating floral stamps and floral dies, and the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper coordinated beautifully to help create some beautiful projects.

I decided I wanted to do a One Sheet Wonder Class using the 6 X 6 Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper. I was inspired by the template and card designs of Rebecca Urban, another talented Stampin’ Up Demonstrator. Here are the cards we made in this fun class.

This paper was just perfect for this Class to show how you can stretch our Stampin’ Up Designer Series Papers and get more bang for your buck! I used Soft Sea Foam and Calypso Coral Cardstock and Stampin’ Inks. The sentiments are from the Ribbon of Courage and the Beautiful Day Stamp Sets. So quick and easy!! Next I want to try a 12 X 12 One Sheet Wonder Class, and I’m sure the new Christmas Designer Series Papers will inspire me.

Lovely As a Tree Masculine Card

June is a special month around our house, since we celebrate both our Anniversary and my husband’s birthday. Lots of celebration time! I decided to use the classic Lovely As a Tree stamp set to create a special card for my guy’s birthday.

SPECIAL CARD FOR MY SPECIAL GUY!

I really love the combination of blue and brown, so I used Pool Party and Early Espresso. The Lovely As a Tree Stamp Set is so versatile and can be used for any season. Great for masculine or fall projects.

The Hardwood background stamp gave it the rustic look I wanted, inked with Early Espresso and using my Stamparatus. Best stamping tool ever!

The “sploosh” stamp is from Love What You Do, stamped off in Pool Party. Thankfully, he really liked it!

Garden Impressions Suite

Summer has started off with a bang for the Stewart Clan! We were blessed to have a mountain vacation (even further up in the North GA Mountains!) with my daughter and 4 of the grands, and hope to do it again soon. I love summer and flowers and all the lush green of trees and mountains, so the Garden Impressions Suite is an absolute favorite in the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.

This Suite helps create the most beautiful projects!

We used this Site in June’s Fast and Fabulous Cards Class this month and the ladies just loved it, too!

For this card, I used a So Saffron base, stamped a flower from the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set in Versamark across the bottom, adhered a strip of Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon, then a 3″ square of the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper. The gingham bow just set it off perfectly!

Flirty Flamingo was the perfect color to show off this beautiful bouquet from the Springtime Impressions Dies.

This Bundle is so versatile! Look at the variety of stamps and designs!

And the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper is so colorful!

The Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies make projects just pop! The butterfly inspired me to create this 3D project for this month’s Class as a “bonus” project.

I stamped the “dots” using the coordinating Artisan Textures stamp set on canvas. I stamped off Gorgeous Grape at the top and stamped off Melon Mambo at the bottom. I stamped Coastal Cabana full strength 3 times across the middle. The sentiment is stamped in and mounted on Gorgeous Grape. The beautiful butterfly is Pool Party Cardstock.
